Nursing Assistant
(Adult Medicine)

Occupational Summary
Performs direct patient care under the direction of Registered Licensed Practical Nurse in the clinic. Work assignments may include assisting medical providers and nurses in the treatment of patients and performing designated nursing procedures. Based upon written protocols and procedures the Nursing Assistant documents the patients' response to care provided. Actively supports the LCHC mission of service, and education.

Qualifications
Requires a working knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering routine and some special treatments to patients. Work is guided by daily assignment. Ability to document care and observations. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

High School graduate or equivalent. Must have completed Nursing Assistant training program and be certified. Must be currently listed with the Department of Facility Services as a NA I.

Occupational Summary
Provides professional dental and referral services; diagnosis and treat diseases, injuries of the hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity. Counsels patients on prevention care and hygienic practices.

Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of dentistry. Ability to perform effective patient care. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other staff members.

DDS from an approved school of dentistry. If practicing in a specialty field, must have specialty board certification. Must be licensed in the state of North Carolina.

Dental Assistant

Occupational Summary
Provides assistance to dentist. Prepares patients for treatment, processes dental x-rays films, set up instruments and dental materials and sterilizes instruments after patient treatment, chart dental anomalies, maintain dental records and routine clerical duties.

Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of dental equipment and supplies. Considerable knowledge of laboratory equipment. The ability to expose and develop x-rays. Must have good customer service skills.

Completion of certified program in dental assistance and successful completion of the certification exam. One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a dental office preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to supervise nursing personnel. Ability to exercise sound judgement and react correctly in emergency situation. Skill in the application of nursing procedures and ability to investigate and study trends and developments in nursing practices. Minimum of 2 years clinical experience and 1 year administrative experience.

Graduation from a approved School of Nursing and have a current license as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. B.S.N. preferred.

Director-Behavorial Health Clinic

Occupational Summary
The Clinic Administrator has the overall responsibility for the administration and coordination of services in the Behavioral Health Clinic. Coordination services with the Adult and Pediatric Departments to ensure that the mental health needs of Center patients are addressed appropriate. Supervises the administrative component of the all BHC staff members.

Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of behavioral health and provision of mental health services as a part of a multi- disciplinary program are required. Ability to coordinate and supervise the work of professional and Para-professional required. Ability to generate reports and present them to groups and serve as the mental health liaison required. A thorough knowledge of mental health and social services regulations in North Carolina is also desired.

A minimum of five (5) years of professional Social Work or Social Science experience is required supplemented by and additional two years of supervisory experience.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Social Work or the Social Science is required.

Provides individual client nutrition and diet counseling to clients assessing nutritional needs using anthropometric, biochemical, clinical, dietary and socioeconomic information to develop nutrition care plan..

Qualifications
General knowledge of accepted nutritional and dietetic principles and practices. Basic knowledge of foods and nutrition. Basic Knowledge of infant and child development. Ability to maintain rapport with clients. Ability to collect and assimilate information. Ability to communicate and be persuasive.

Graduation from a four College or University with a bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, dietetic, or public health nutrition, or a bachelor's degree in home economics with 12 hours in nutrition course work. One year of experience in the field of nutrition.

Provides medical services under the direct supervision of the physician and delivers primary health care to patients, as well as fulfilling such duties as assessment, planning, teaching and counseling. Provide supervisory and administrative support for the program.

Qualifications
Thorough medical knowledge within the scope of the Mid-level profession. Excellent assessment skills. Ability to manage and work in a diverse environment in a school setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Speak fluently in Spanish and English.

Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Must have a current license to practice in the State of North Carolina. Certification in designation field required. Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Mid-level Provider required. Previous experience in an administrative or supervisory role is also required.

Mid Level Practitioner
(Early Intervention Clinic)

Occupational Summary
Primary responsibility for the medical management of patients in the Early Intervention Clinic. Augments the physicians ability to provide medical services to patients at the Clinic; collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations and provides direct patient care services. (All of the above directly or indirectly supervised by one or more physicians).

Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of the Center's operation and procedures; ability to skillfully and accurately perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; thorough understanding of the patient's needs and how these can best be met by appropriate use of facilities and personnel. Ability to communicate with skill, clarity and accuracy with the patients, physicians and ancillary health workers at all levels.

Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Must have a current license to practice in the state of North Carolina. Certification in designated field required. Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Mid-Level required. Previous experience in an administrative or supervisory role is also required.
