SCHEDULING ASSISTANT/EDITOR 

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

This position is responsible for a variety of complex administrative and clerical duties that are required for efficient and effective clinical operations. The primary responsibility is to set-up, maintain, interpret and edit schedules. This position receives approved schedule change requests and per established guidelines executes changes in EPIC. The scheduling Assistant/Editor must have a clear understanding of the impact of schedule changes and manage schedules in a large complex group practice.

EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE /EDUCATION

Excellent verbal, writing, critical thinking and editing skills. Strong information technology skills including internet, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and other scheduling and planning software. Ability to multi-task, focus and able to perform tasks quickly and accurately are required. Ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion and sound judgement. Excellent interpersonal skills to include the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and customers with diplomacy and tact.

A high school diploma or equivalent. Post -Secondary Education strongly preferred. Five or more years of administrative clerical and scheduling experience in an ambulatory care setting required. Must have working knowledge of HIPAA and Joint Commission Patient Care Standards.
